Important Notes for the Use of Visio ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Licensing (224779) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Engineering Base 2019 requires the "Version 2019" license. From Engineering Base 2019 SP1, the license-free 60-day trial version is no longer available. If you wish to temporarily use Engineering Base on a trial basis, please contact our sales representative or AUCOTEC. On installing Engineering Base, you have to explicitly select one of the following licenses: - Licensed Version - Administrated License File - FlexNet Licensing ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Updates and Enhancements in Version 2019 SP1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: In front of each of the following new feature or enhancement, an identification number (ID) is provided under which the respective change is stored in our database. Should you have any questions related to a change, please refer to this identification number. - 83584 In PDF files created via the “Convert to PDF” assistant, you can now navigate directly via the cross-references displayed in the diagrams. - 103519 In worksheets, you can now also link several filter rows using a logical “And”. To link several filter rows, you can switch between “And” and “Or” and vice versa. The selected link applies to the filter rows of all columns of your worksheet. - 160121 You can now also start the “Equipment Diagram” assistant on the “Functions” folder or on one or several objects in this folder. For all associated devices, an equipment diagram is then created. The following new functions are available: - Selection field “Process”: If you start on the “Functions” folder, you can select a function for the creation of the equipment diagrams. - “Separate folder for each function”: If several functions have been selected on starting the assistant, or if the start is executed on the “Functions” folder, you can specify that the created equipment diagrams are stored in one sub folder per function. - 161041 On creating circuit components, the functions and locations associated with the devices can be saved even if they are not graphically represented. On creating the circuit components, the associated functions and locations are truncated by the information that was preset by the sheet. Once the circuit components are used, these references are recreated by means of the information of the new sheet. To activate this functionality, set the following database switch: „CCMasterPjElementHierarchie=CC-SHEETBASE,“. - 162758 You can now also assign a specification catalog to a material catalog in order to subsequently update the object dialogs via the specification by means of the “Update Dialog from Type Assistant”. - 189611 In the Excel template of the “Smart Excel” assistant, you can now also use keywords beginning with “$$”. The keywords must be listed in one row, an association with fixed text elements is not possible. The following keywords can be used: - $$Project.Xxx: Xxx stands for a project-specific attribute (attribute name or AID), for instance $$Project.Name or $$Project.AID5. - $$User - $$Date - $$StartItem.Xxx: Xxx stands for a specific attribute (attribute name or AID) of the start item, for instance $$StartItem.Name or $$StartItem.AID5. In addition to the “Settings” and “Content” tabs in the standard template, you can define further tabs, for instance in order to create a cover sheet for the output to Smart Excel. - 191421 If you output terminal block data via the “Export Terminals” assistant, the data of the mounting rails under which the terminal blocks are aggregated is now also exported for the product “WAGO smartDesigner”. - 195066 You can now improve the legibility of the target connector designations in the terminal block diagrams by defining a separator in the terminal block diagram templates. The separator is then inserted in the “Pin” columns between the following terms: - Terminal Segment Designation - Terminal Block Name - Pin designation The display is managed via the new parameter “Terminal separator”. Enter the separator of your choice, e.g. the character “;”, as follows: - in the terminal block diagram template: Terminal separator=; - in the terminal block diagram configuration: ; - 196178 Engineering Base 2019 SP1 now also supports you in editing maintenance tasks. In Engineering Base, a new system folder “Tasks” is available in all projects. In addition to the well-established execution tasks, you can also define tasks of the types “maintenance task” and “maintenance step” in that folder. You can assign equipment, documents, external files/images and notes to the maintenance-related tasks. These maintenance tasks created in Engineering Base can then be edited on a tablet (minimum size 7”) via an Android app. The application is an additional option in Engineering Base that is subject to license. - 196370 The cross-reference of a terminal which is placed, but not connected, on a circuit diagram can now be displayed on the terminal block diagram. The display is managed via the new parameter “Terminal Representation Options”: - in the terminal block diagram template: Terminal Representation Options=2 - in the terminal block diagram configuration: 2 - 197912 In the “Multi Copy Bay” assistant, the options to copy bays have been updated. - Target -> Drawings folder: The corresponding sheets are copied into the document structure of the target project. The copied documents are stored in the documents folder in drawings with the following drawing name: “Source drawing name” “Name of the copied bay”. - Target -> Copy Bin: The corresponding sheets can now also be copied into the copy bin if the source project and the target project are identical. The copied documents are stored in the copy bin in drawings with the following drawing name: “Source drawing name” “Name of the copied bay” - Copy interface devices: This new option allows you to also copy the interface devices of the bay. The copy is stored in the copy bin below Equipment. As an identifier, “_name of the copied bay” is added to the name of the superordinate object. - 199294 Using the two new parameters “AbsoluteX” and “AbsoluteY”, you can control the position of a shape in the tag sheet independent from any offset statements. Offset parameters can be used in the same XML statement. - 208250 For “Export Label”, you can now configure the attributes to be used for a double-spaced output of cable destinations. The configurations are saved user-specific in the registry. The previously used attributes “Target 1” and “Target 2” are still available as a presetting. If other attributes are to be used, you have to define them both in the attribute selection dialog of the assistant and in the worksheet template used for the output. In that case, you should also remove “Target 1” and “Target 2” from this worksheet template. - 208529 For reports, several pages may be available. If a worksheet listing all sheets of your project (for instance, a directory) is to contain one row for each page, activate the option “Show one line per report page” in the worksheet properties. For the individual pages of a report, the report row is repeated as often as needed and the page number is incremented. You cannot edit the repeated rows. - 214608 The upper limits to use locations and units in the Typical Manager have been increased as follows: - 30 typical locations - 30 typical units - 214786 The shortcut menus of the subsequently listed pin types have been extended for editing in the Engineering Base Explorer and in Visio. On the respective shortcut menus, the possible values for the attributes “Flow Direction” (Unspecified, Neutral, On, Off) and “Control Direction” (Unspecified, Output, Input) are now available and can be selected directly: - “Process / Fluid” with a value selection for “Flow Direction” - “Process Stream” with a value selection for “Flow Direction” - “Process Control” with a value selection for “Control Direction”. - 217710 If you open the worksheet “Attribute” on the “Attributes” system folder, the worksheet now displays the following properties for the attributes of your database. - Attribute ID - Name  - Attribute Type - Attribute Unit Group - Assistant name - eCl@ss 5.x - Favourite Attribute - Inherits Value In the worksheet, you can edit the data of the name, assistant name and eCl@ss 5.x columns. - 220933 On editing diagrams of the smart diagram types P&I diagram, system control diagram and process flow diagram, the functions “Link Port” and “Unlink Port” are now available. Thus, you can create and remove biunique cross-references for potentials and flow streams. For the above-mentioned smart diagram types, the function is available without a license from the EB cable solution. - 222124 The program behavior while using automatic pins now also applies to standard operations and to frozen P&I diagrams. - During the graphic copying, an automatic pin is maintained if the object connected to the pin is also copied. - On copying an object in the tree, the automatic pins are not copied. - Automatic pins at a frozen object are maintained. The object connected to the pin cannot be deleted. - 224816 The following functionalities are now also available on editing diagrams of the smart diagram type “Single-Line Diagram”: - Scaling of shapes - Creation of automatic pins ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Fixed Bugs in Version 2019 SP1 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: In front of each of the following fixed errors, an identification number (ID) is provided under which the respective error is stored in our database. Should you have any questions related to an error recovery, please refer to this identification number. - 221341 On starting the Wiring Manager on a cable or an assembly, lengthy delays could sometimes occur until the respective data was loaded and the dialog was opened in the case of complex data constellations. The start behavior of the Wiring Manager has now been improved significantly. - 224424 The following assistants have been enabled in license “EB Plant Operation”: - Auto Create Data Sheet - Terminal Block Diagram - 226952 On assigning free inputs using the “Merge Device Assistant”, potentials connected to the PLC were deleted up to now. Now, the potentials are maintained during the assignment. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Database Enhancements ------------------------------------------------------------------------- In Version 2019 SP1, the following database enhancements have been added: New attribute definitions: „Attribute Type“ AID 728 „Favourite Attribute“ AID 729 „Inherits Value“ AID 730 „Attribute Unit Group“ AID 731 „Typical Unit 11...30“ AID 32110 – 32129 „Typical Location 11...30“ AID 32130 - 32149 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. Updating from a Previous Version ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Version 2019 SP1 is provided as a Service Pack for Version 2019 and can therefore not be installed parallel to Version 2019. An existing installation of Version 2019 is overwritten after a respective message has been issued. In client / server environments, the update has to be installed on the server and on the client computer. NOTE: Databases created with previous versions of Engineering Base must be updated by the Database Manager before they can be used with this version! To update an existing database 1. On the Windows Start menu, please select All Programs, then Engineering Base 2019, and click "Database Manager 2019". 2. Select the tab "SQL Server Instance" and click "Update Databases". 3. The database can now be used with the current version of Engineering Base. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. Important Notes for the Use of Visio ------------------------------------------------------------------------- From version 6.6.1, Engineering Base also supports Microsoft Visio 2013 in addition to Visio 2010; from EB version 6.7.1., Visio 2016 is also supported. Please note: Engineering Base 2019 SP1 is not approved for operation with Visio 2019. Please use one of the Visio Versions that we have approved (Visio 2010, 2013 or 2016) for the use of Engineering Base 2019 SP1. The approval of using Visio 2019 is planned for Engineering Base 2019 R2 in Q2 2019. Please note: If several Visio versions are installed, Engineering Base will always use the version that was started last. Important information: ID 153577 When using Visio 2010, comments can be placed at any position on the sheet with the menu item "Review" and the command "New Comment". When using more recent Visio versions, these comments are always assigned to the selected shapes. Hence, these comments are also moved automatically on moving the respective shape. Because of this change, all comments placed in Visio 2010 are displayed in the upper left corner of the sheet in more recent Visio versions. ID 162637 In PDF outputs of thin lines and texts, Visio outputs all lines with line widths of less than one point in an rounded line width of approximately 0.5 points. In cases where many thin lines are displayed, the output can therefore look confusing. Please note: This issue was solved by Microsoft in the September 2017 update for Visio 2016 (KB4011096). ID 153439 Due to the increased memory requirements for stencils from Visio 2013 on, further checks are executed when Engineering Base is started, and the following messages are displayed if the Visio 2013 Service Pack and the update KB3114720 are not installed: You are using a version of Visio 2013 (or newer) that can address a maximum memory of 2 GB. Please note that this may lead to problems due to insufficient addressable memory. You will find the update on https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3114720. ID 186222 For very large formats, the sheet might not be fully displayed in Visio 2013 and Visio 2016.
