Updates and Enhancements in Version 2019 3. Fixed Bugs in Version 2019 4. Database Enhancements 5. Updating from a Previous Version 6. Important Notes for the Use of Visio 2013 and Visio 2016 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Licensing ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using Engineering Base 2019 requires the "Version 2019" license. Without the "Version 2019" license, Engineering Base 2019 cannot be used once the 60 day trial period has expired. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 2. Updates and Enhancements in Version 2019 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- For the integration of the new solution FEED & Process Design, the project folders "Tasks" and "Execution Tasks" have been merged. In this context, the order of the folders in the projects has been redefined: Equipment Functions Locations Processes Documents Revisions Enhanced data tracking Tasks Messages Specifications Hookups Templates Add-Ins Recycle Bin Moreover, various settings in the project properties have been rearranged. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3. Fixed Bugs in Version 2019 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTE: In front of each of the following fixed errors, an identification number (ID) is provided under which the respective error is stored in our database. Should you have any questions related to an error recovery, please refer to this identification number. - 140152 If you assigned more than one catalog to a project, the Protection Assistant no longer found any material numbers. Now, you can use the Protection Assistant to assign protection material of the "Preferred Catalog" and any "Additional Catalogs". Once you have changed the catalog settings in the project properties, restart the assistant. - 160680 If you had defined additional catalogs at the project and used material of these catalogs, an error message was displayed on starting the "Navigation from Device to Catalog" assistant that the material number could not be found. Now, you can also use the assistant to navigate to all "Additional Catalogs". - 181461 So far, sorting the column contents in the list views of the Potential Wiring Editor in an alphanumeric order delivered wrong results. Now, alphanumeric cell contents are also sorted as done in the Engineering Base Explorer, i.e. in the same order. - 188090 If project templates were exported via "Export Customizing", the permissions for all associated dictionaries were reset during the import. - 191249 User-defined regional settings with modified decimal separators caused EB full installations to crash. - 191499 The Potential Wiring Editor can now process elements that separate potentials (connector cavities, terminals,...) properly. For instance, if the two cavities of the connector and the mating connector belong to different potentials. - 194800 Potential Wiring Editor: Although the connectors were assigned with wires, the potentials were not displayed in the Potential Wiring Editor. Now, this updating issue has been solved and the device-related display of potentials is now working again. - 194953 If a device is placed from the Engineering Base Explorer into a frame on the sheet, this device is now again associated correctly with the respective object (e.g. location, unit or function). - 195072 Import and update items: Importing and processing Excel files has been accelerated. - 195405 Merge Device Assistant: On separating devices, the entries in the Options window are displayed again. - 195535 If more than 20 Windows user groups were defined for a local Engineering Base group and the user management was activated afterwards, EB could no longer be started. EB issued a message that the attempt to connect to the database failed. Now, there no longer is an upper limit for the number of user groups. - 195758 Potential Wiring Editor: Cable aggregations at wire pairs were lost if the cable was assigned to a bundle. - 196065 If a revision was started on project level, the error message "GetSymbolAttributesData" was displayed and the revision clouds were missing at the segments in the PDF output. Now, the changes in the revision PDF file are displayed graphically by clouds also for the segments. The error message is no longer displayed. - 197059 The issue resulting in a crash of the graphic revision after an EB update has been solved. - 197192 If you started the "Convert To PDF" assistant on project level, EB encountered an issue during the write process, and the output file had a size of 0 KB. The PDF output has now been fixed. - 197434 It is again possible to insert a hyperlink to a file without this file being automatically deleted from the directory. - 197588 Creating a zero revision and entering a range (e.g. a-z) or an enumeration (e.g. a,b,c) for the names of the subsequent revisions is now working again. - 197710 On starting the equipment diagram on the uppermost unit and not on a complex device, the associated equipment was displayed instead of the uppermost unit at the associated units on the created equipment diagrams. Now, the associated equipment is displayed correctly in the Modify dialog at the created equipment diagrams. - 199373 Users of a group with Modify permissions in a project can now again delete sheets in the current EB version. - 201634 Terminal Block Diagram: A pin to which a cable core is connected is now again displayed as a black triangle. This triangle icon is placed in the upper left or right corner of the cell. The core number or the core color is also displayed again in the cable matrix. - 201697 If the cable matrix is activated in the terminal block diagram, the black triangle icons representing the pins are again displayed correctly in the upper left or right corner of the cells. - 202384 On attempting to export an existing project, no export file was created. It was only possible to export newly created projects without any data. Now, existing projects can also be exported again. - 202602 On starting the assistant "Mechatronic Explorer - Import Markup Data", an error message was displayed indicating that no data was found, even though the directory did contain data. - 202771 Tag Sheet Automation: If, on creating sheets, there were two configurations (e.g. Loop Check and Tag Sheet) for one start object in a XML configuration file, a sheet was created with the first configuration (Loop Check) which was then overwritten by the second configuration (Tag Sheet) instead of a separate sheet being created. - 210592 After a successful database update from version 6.6.0 to 6.7.1, starting EB was stopped at 66% with a message that the database update failed. This issue has now been solved. - 211723 If the Typical Manager was started with a large amount of data (1000 functions or more), it took very long until the functions were loaded and the Typical Manager dialog was opened. The start behavior of the Typical Manager has now been improved significantly. - 214766 Exporting large projects with several thousand pages to the Mechatronic Explorer was aborted after a certain number of pages without any message. The assistant has now been adapted so that it is also possible to output large projects. For large projects, it is recommended to enter the value of 250 in the settings of the assistant Mechatronic Explorer in the option "Max. Project Size (Number of Sheets) for One Step Export". After an output of this number of sheets, Engineering Base is ended, restarted, and the export is continued. This also empties the Visio cache which could cause the error in the past. - 215622 During the RUPLAN data migration, potentials were created without any type if they were transferred with the type ID 2141, which does not exist in Engineering Base. The affected potentials are now converted into the type "Electrical", so that all attributes of the type "Electrical" are also available at the potentials. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4. Database Enhancements ------------------------------------------------------------------------- - 184918 You can now create objects with the following new types in the Equipment folder: • Flow stream • Chemical substance • Pipeline • Pipeline segment As far as aggregations and associations are concerned, the objects of these types behave as objects of the type device. From EB 2019, templates are also available to display and edit the data of these object types in worksheets. Moreover, the following database enhancements have been included in version 2019: New object definitions (CID): 372 – Pipe Termination 376 – Execution Task Frame 377 – Execution Task Symbols 381 – Pipeline 382 – Pipeline Segment 398 - Flow Stream 412 - Folder for Tool Palette Configurations 413 - Tool Palette Configuration 414 - Tool Palette Configuration Tab 415 - Tool Palette Configuration Group 419 - Root for Flow Stream Symbol Editor 420 - Root for Flow Stream / Chemical Substance Symbol Editor 421 - Root for Flow Stream Tag Symbol Editor 422 - Chemical Substance 423 - Chemical Substance Types 424 - Chemical Substance Symbols 425 - Stencil Collection for Chemical Substance Symbols 426 - Stencil for Chemical Substance Symbols 427 - Master for Chemical Substance Symbols 430 – Folder for Tasks 431 - Task 432 – Folder for Task Types 440 - Collection for Flow Stream Breaker Symbols 441 - Stencil for Flow Stream Breaker Symbols 442 - Master for Flow Stream Breaker Symbols 443 - Root for Flow Stream Breaker Symbol Editor New type definitions: 1765 – Reducer (Process / Fluid) 2350 – Unspecified Chemical Substance 2351 – Liquid Chemical Substance 2352 – Vapor Chemical Substance 2353 - Solid Chemical Substance 2354 - Mixed Chemical Substance 2430 – Maintenance Task 2431 – Maintenance Step 2432 - Engineering Task 2433 – Organization Task New role definitions: 65 – MaintenanceTask2Object 76 - PipelineSegmentToDevice 83 - CrossReference 87 - ExecutionTaskWindow 131 - ToolPaletteConfiguration 132 – ToolPaletteMaster 133 – PipeCatalogToProject New database solutions: Plant Engineering - FEED & Process Plant Engineering - Detail A great number of attributes that will not be listed individually in this chapter have been integrated into the database currently provided by AUCOTEC. The new attributes are based upon the following norms (191360). - API 610 - Centrifugal Pumps for Petroleum, Petrochemical and Natural Gas Industries - API 650 - Welded Tanks for Oil Storage - API 660 - Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers - ISA-TR20.00.01-2001- Specification Forms for Process Measurement and Control Instruments Part 1: General Considerations - DIN EN ISO 10628-2 - Diagrams for the chemical and petrochemical industry - Part 2: Graphical symbols (ISO 10628-2:2012) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 5. Updating from a Previous Version ------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you have already installed an Engineering Base version 6.8.0 or earlier, the setup allows a parallel installation. To remove the previous version, use the Add or Remove Programs functions of the Windows Control Panel. In client / server environments, the update has to be installed on the server and on the client computer. NOTE: Databases created with previous versions of Engineering Base must be updated by the Database Manager before they can be used with this version! To update an existing database 1. On the Windows Start menu, please select All Programs, then Engineering Base 2019, and click "Database Manager 2019". 2. Select the tab "SQL Server Instance" and click "Update Databases". 3. The dialog now shows a list of the databases which have not been updated yet. Mark the databases to be updated and start the update. 4. After the update has finished, quit the Database Manager. The database can now be used with the current version of Engineering Base. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6. Important Notes for the Use of Visio 2013 and Visio 2016 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- From version 6.6.1, Engineering Base also supports Microsoft Visio 2013 in addition to Visio 2010; from EB version 6.7.1., Visio 2016 is also supported. Please note: If several Visio versions are installed, Engineering Base will always use the version that was started last. Important information: ID 153577 When using Visio 2010, comments can be placed at any position on the sheet with the menu item "Review" and the command "New Comment". When using more recent Visio versions, these comments are always assigned to the selected shapes. Hence, these comments are also moved automatically on moving the respective shape. Because of this change, all comments placed in Visio 2010 are displayed in the upper left corner of the sheet in more recent Visio versions. ID 162637 In PDF outputs of thin lines and texts, Visio outputs all lines with line widths of less than one point in an rounded line width of approximately 0.5 points. In cases where many thin lines are displayed, the output can therefore look confusing. Please note: This issue was solved by Microsoft in the September 2017 update for Visio 2016 (KB4011096). ID 153439 Due to the increased memory requirements for stencils from Visio 2013 on, further checks are executed when Engineering Base is started, and the following messages are displayed if the Visio 2013 Service Pack and the update KB3114720 are not installed: You are using a version of Visio 2013 (or newer) that can address a maximum memory of 2 GB. Please note that this may lead to problems due to insufficient addressable memory. You will find the update on https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3114720. ID 186222 For very large formats, the sheet might not be fully displayed in Visio 2013 and Visio 2016.
